At little distance from the farm you can make visits to the Convent of S. Andrea (Collevecchio), to the Sanctuary of Vescovio (Torri in Sabina), to the villages of Cicignano, Poggio Sommavilla and Fianello, to the Civic Museum of Magliano Sabina, to Calvi in Umbria, to the Abbey of Farfa, to the church of S. Andrea in Flumine (Ponzano Romano), to the Church of S. Elia (Nepi). You can make excursions and naturalistic observations in the Natural Reserve of the Tiber - Farfa and in that of Mount Soratte; bird-watching in the WWF oases of Pian S. Angelo and Alviano. It is possible to go hiking in the Sabine Mountains, go canoeing on the Tiber and go horse riding.Collevecchio and the surrounding municipalities of Montebuono, Tarano, Torri in Sabina and Selci are crossed by the Tiberine Variante of the Cammino di S. Francesco, a pedestrian path increasingly frequented in recent years, which connects Florence, Assisi and Rome. Our farm can be a starting point or a stopover along this path.
TO about an hour's drive there are the lake of Bolsena, the lake of Vico, the lake of Bracciano, the park of the monsters of Bomarzo, the necropolis of Sutri, the city of Viterbo and its thermal baths, Tuscania, Civita di Bagnoregio , Todi, Spoleto, Narni, Orte, Orvieto; the nature reserves of Monte Rufeno and of the Selva del Lamone; while a little further away, but always easy to reach, there are Perugia, the Marmore waterfall, then Arezzo, Siena, the Maremma coast.
Moreover, for fans of free flight it is easily reachable in just over an hour the flight area of Poggio Bustone, one of the most popular places in central Italy with the possibility of flights away, or the take-off of Mount Soratte (at half 'Now).
Rome
Going to Rome from Collevecchio is very easy: in fact it takes just over an hour either by train or by car. By car you can choose between the fastest route taking the A1 to Ponzano Romano or the most scenic route, along one of the two ancient consular roads, Flaminia or Salaria. By train, from the Collevecchio-Poggio Sommavilla station, you can reach both the center of the capital and the Fiumicino airport.
