"Le Cerque" country house hospitality
Just one hour from Rome, in a hilly niche between the Tiber valley, Etruscan Tuscia and Umbria, the countryside remains as it has always been, beautiful and largely untouched. Oak woods ("cerque" in local dialect), olive groves, meadows and flocks of sheep characterize the landscape around the Medieval village of Collevecchio.
We are in the Sabina area, known for good, high-quality olive oil. We have refurbished an old farmhouse to accommodate visitors who, like us, love the tranquillity and beauty of the countryside in all its range of colours and every season.
Here you can have a walk through the fields or relax in the shade of an oak tree, listen to the sounds of nature, or enjoy the silence and aromas of the country.
If you prefer to experience country life, you can participate in the olive harvest (October-November), pick fruit from the trees or wild herbs in the fields.
The farm house
The farm, 25 hectares of hilly land in Collevecchio (RI) at 243 m of elevation, includes 5 hectares of organic olive cultivation (one of the first in Sabina to receive "Sabina PDO" recognition), 15 hectares of planted fields, and meadows and fruit orchards. The olive groves are surrounded by woodlands, fields of medicinal herbs and hedges. The olives (Leccino, Frantoio and Coratina varieties) yield an extra virgin oil bearing double certification: "Sabina PDO" (numbered bottles, CCIAA certification from Rome) and "Organic production" (IMC control).
