Ingresso In the Sabina Tiberina region, less than 70 km from the center of Rome, we have renovated two houses to accommodate those who – just like us – love the tranquility and beauty of the countryside in all its shades of color and in all seasons.

The houses are situated on a patch of hills between the Tiber Valley, the Sabine Mountains, the Etruscan Tuscia, and Umbria. The countryside around the houses is timeless: beautiful and almost intact; and it has been producing high quality EVO olive oil for over two thousand years. Oak woods ("cerque" in the local dialect), olive groves, meadows and flocks of sheep characterise the landscape around the medieval village of Collevecchio.

Here you can walk in the fields or rest in the shade of an oak tree, listen to the sounds of nature, enjoy the silence and the scents of the countryside. Otherwise you may also walk along the long and ancient paths that connect small villages, surprisingly rich in history and culture. You can take part in the olive harvest (October-November) or collect the fruits from the trees as well as the herbs growing in the fields.

Reception

The farm Le Cerque, comprises 15 hectares of hilly ground in the district of Collevecchio (RI) which is placed at 243 m of altitude above the sea level. The ground includes 2 hectares of olive grove - one of the first registered "DOP Sabina" - 10 hectares arable land, as well as meadows, orchards and woods. The olive groves are surrounded by woods, alfalfa lawns and hedges. The olive trees (especially the leccino and crusher varieties mixed to small quantities of other local varieties) give a certified organic extra virgin olive oil (CCPB). In fact, the company has been operating organically since 2000, due to the intimate and rigorous conviction of its owners.
